They turned out great- sinfully sweet and absolutely delicious. Thanks Jenine!!
The cupcake stand was a gift from my sister, isn’t it adorable? It’s like serving a bouquet of cupcakes.

My friend Jenine had a birthday recently, so I decided to make cupcakes. Jenine really loves lemon (you should see how many wedges she squeezes into her water) so I wanted to come up with a bright, citric, lemon-based cupcake for her. The result was these lemon lime cupcakes with a lemon curd filling and lemon frosting. HOLY LEMON!
Remember when I posted a recipe for the world’s greatest chocolate cake? Well, it just got an update- this time I used the same basic recipe to make Fudge Cake Truffles aka little bites of heaven.
A friend of mine is throwing a Valentines party this Saturday and I offered to make and bring an assortment of homemade candies. I’m not sure what prompted me to do this since I have very little candy making experience but I figured I could come up with some tasty treats. My first idea was peanut butter balls. I have made them before (although only sloppy versions that never leave my house) and my boyfriend loves them. They’re pretty much homemade Reese’s so I’m banking on the fact that most people REALLY like Reese’s so they should like these too.
This is one of my all time favorite cookies, and yet I only make them once a year. They just seem like a Christmas cookie to me- perhaps because they are always included in the holiday cookie tins my mom, sister and I give out each year. This year was no exception, so I whipped up a double batch and here they are.
Just a quick update, my boyfriend and I used two of the costume ideas from my 5 Fun Halloween Costumes posts. I dressed up as Rosie the Riveter and Phil was Marty McFly- here are some pictures:
I made these earlier this week for my 2nd annual Halloween party and they turned out really cute. Ideally I would have liked to do pumpkin pies but you can only have so many pumpkin foods at one party.
These cupcakes are fun for kids and adults alike. They are also a really good idea if you are having a 70′s themed party. If you prefer you can make a whole cake in this style, rather than individual cupcakes. Either way this dessert is sure to be a hit.
