So, I love Halloween. I’m not really into scary movies, or candy corn, but costumes? Yes, please. I look forward to putting together creative DIY costumes all year long. Best costume to date? THE WET BANDITS, baby! Yes, that is right. This year my fiance and I dressed up as Harry and Marv from Home Alone, and it was awesome.
I honestly think this costume works just as well as a couples costume as it does for 2 guys. The reason? If a woman goes as Jay, there is no need to invest in a blonde wig. Continue reading

Last year I posted 5 Fun Halloween Costumes that you could create yourself fairly easily. This year I’m back with 5 new ideas, this time for couples or groups. Once again, these costumes are perfect for anyone on a budget- especially those who like making their own costumes and/or have access to a thrift store. My friend Jenine had a birthday recently, so I decided to make cupcakes. Jenine really loves lemon (you should see how many wedges she squeezes into her water) so I wanted to come up with a bright, citric, lemon-based cupcake for her. The result was these lemon lime cupcakes with a lemon curd filling and lemon frosting. HOLY LEMON!
Candy #2 for Melissa’s big V-day bash are called Caramel Pecan Clusters. They are very easy to make and quite tasty. I chose to use pecans because they are my favorite but you could easily substitute any other unsalted nut (cashews, walnuts, macadamia nuts, etc).
